"XG" (Hangul: 엑스지, Katakana: エックスジー) is a South Korea-based global girl group formed by XGALX. The group consists of seven members: Chisa, Hinata, Jurin, Harvey, Juria, Maya, and Cocona. They made their debut on March 18, 2022, with their first single "Tippy Toes".

The group name XG is an acronym for Xtraordinary Girls, the letter "X" represents a new gene with unknown nature.
History[]
2022: Introduction, debut with "Tippy Toes", official fanclub name, "MASCARA"[]
On January 25, 2022, former DMTN member Simon announced his plans to debut his first-ever girl group called XG. That same day, the group's official social media accounts were established.[1] The next day, the group posted a dance performance teaser featuring all seven members, of which was choreographed and directed by Choi Hyo-jin.[2] Over the following weeks, the group's abilities were teased through music covers, such as Rob Stone's "Chill Bill", Justin Bieber's "Peaches", and various dance performance videos.
On February 18, XG's official debut date was revealed to be March 18.[2] From February 19 through February 25, the seven members of XG were unveiled, beginning with Jurin, followed by Chisa, Cocona, Hinata, Maya, Juria, and finally Harvey.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9] The group officially debuted on March 18 with the release of their first single, titled "Tippy Toes".
On May 30, the group announced their first-ever comeback with their second single, titled "MASCARA".[10] The single was released on June 29.
On July 25, the group announced through an official YouTube video that their official fandom name would be "ALPHAZ".[11]
2023: "SHOOTING STAR", NEW DNA[]
A motion teaser posted to XG's official Instagram account on December 29, 2022, hinted at new music from the group.[12] Days later, on January 6, 2023, the group announced that their third single, "SHOOTING STAR", will be released on January 25.[13] A remix single titled "SHOOTING STAR REMIXX (PROD BY JAKOPS)" was released on April 7.[14]. Later on May 05, 2023 a second remix single titled "LEFT RIGHT REMIXX (PROD BY JAKOPS)" was released. [15]
On June 27, XG's official Twitter account posted a teaser photo announcing the group's plans for their first mini album.[16] The next day, it was announced prior to the release of their first mini album, XG will have a pre-release single titled "GRL GVNG", out on June 30.[17]
On July 24, the group announced their first mini album, NEW DNA, will be released on September 27.[18] On August 4, XG released their second digital single, "TGIF", as the second pre-release digital single for their first mini album. Later on August 23, XG released their third digital single, "NEW DANCE", as the third pre-release digital single for their first mini album.
On November 26, 2023, it was revealed that group will release their fourth digital single, "WINTER WITHOUT YOU", on December 8.[19] Additionally, it was revealed that XG would embark on their first world tour, titled XG 1st World Tour "The First Howl". [20]
2024: "Undefeated", "Woke Up", "Something Ain’t Right", AWE[]
On March 27, 2024, XG announced their fourth single album, "WOKE UP", would be released on May 21.[21]
On April 5, XG announced that they will be releasing the digital single "UNDEFEATED", in collaboration with the video game Valorant, on April 12.[22]
On July 8, the group announced its plans to release their second mini album, with its title then-yet to be revealed, sometime in late 2024. Later, it was revealed the mini album, titled AWE, will be released on November 8.[23][24][25] The mini album's first pre-release single, "SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT", was released on July 26.
On September 20, XG released their third remix single, "WOKE UP REMIXX". Moreover, "IYKYK", the second pre-release single from their second mini album, will be released on October 11.
